8 oz extra-light olive oil
2.5 oz beeswax
2/3 cup distilled water
1 teaspoon borax (cosmetic grade)
5 drops tea tree oil
5 drops Vitamin E oil
~15 drops essential oil for fragrance (optional)
Add 1 tsp borax to 2/3 C warm water, stir until dissolved.
Heat beeswax (using double boiler method) until melted, then cool to 140 degrees F
Heat olive oil to 140 degrees F
Add tea tree oil and Vitamin E to olive oil
Add the oil mixture to the beeswax (with both temperatures at 140 degrees)
Add the borax/water solution to oil/wax, whisking as you add. Mixture will turn white as it thickens.
If fragrance is desired, add now to the mixture.
Pour into clean containers.
Let sit until cool before capping to prevent condensation.
